Holy life.
Well, its Mid October... so its about time to talk about September, right?...... September was an insanely perfect, horrible, emotional, frustrating, invigorating and a learning month for me, and for that I will have no photo's, my post tonight will be a little narrative about my month... feel free to move on without reading...I won't be offended.
September started out like perfection!! I had accepted a job at the Aveda Institute to teach Cosmetology and this seemed like a dream come true! I have always thought maybe one day I would follow in my Dad's foot steps and teach, but I thought it would be years down the road. This opportunity presented itself & the school was more than eager for me to be apart of their team so I jumped in. Everything was falling into place. This must be why I stayed here in Ut! Hallelujah!
The weekend before I was scheduled to start training I had planned a trip to drive to Southern California for my best friend, Wesley Bird's, birthday. We were going to celebrate in Palm Springs and it was going to be just magical. I decided to bring my partner in crime with me for the adventure, so me and Mr. Mimi headed on down to my hometown. We drove through the night, and through the grace of a higher power we made it safely, friendship intact. My car may or may not have over heated on the way, so I had the joy of having my coolant system replaced in the 14 hours we were in San Diego visiting my family. Tragedy was averted, my car was fixed, and we headed to Palm Springs and enjoyed a super laid back weekend celebrating my perfect girlfriend with some of my favorite humans on planet earth, and of course Sawyer Bird was there too. We headed back to the Provoland Sunday afternoon and after 3.5 days together non stop we surprisingly didn't want to kill each other. Friendship test: Pass.
I started training for my job the following week and it was great, I was having a good time, getting the hang of things at the Aveda school, but something just felt off. The anxiety that I had been feeling before my "not move" was back... and of course, me being me I tried to fight it... finally, what felt like an eternity of uneasiness, I couldn't fight it anymore. I told the Aveda school I wouldn't be able to teach for them. Anxiety gone, job gone. Major bummer. But, now what?
Back to the job hunt, I got super down and even more frustrated then I was before. But Momma's gotta eat, so I applied to every salon I could find in Utah Valley. I had way too much free time. I was going a bit crazy, ask anyone around me.... so what did I do? Side project here and there helping out friends, I became a personal assistant to a very busy human in my life, but I needed something for me..... so, I started a blog. I spent my free time designing, researching, and planning what I wanted for my blog. The rest of the month was a bit of a blurr but September came and went & October 1st I launched Perfectly Provo. I still didn't quite know what I was doing, but it kept me busy & it kept me motivated & it helped me feel a sense of purpose I had been lacking in the previous weeks.
The blog has gotten a lot more exposure and a lot more traffic than I could have ever expected. Its been up 2 weeks now & I have had over 2500 views! Thank you to all who have visited, supported, commented & texted feed back! I am grateful to be able to share something I enjoy so much with all of you! Please keep sharing and I love feed back, it keeps me motivated.
While Perfectly Provo has been keeping me busy, my job search continued & I am still finding new ventures to pursue! I accepted a job at Suggestions Salon in Orem & will be taking clients Tues & Thursdays! I would love to see all of you who live in the Utah Valley!! I am excited to be back in a Redken Salon again & I am offering esthetic services with Image Skin Care, Spray Tans, and Gel Polish! I'm sooooooo excited to be back doing what I love so much in a place that already feels like home. Although, my salon home will always be Salon Bordeaux, Suggestions is my home away from home and I'm really looking forward to growing and learning there.
As for my other ventures, I have recently decided to be a distributor for It Works. It is a health based company that works through detoxifying your body for weight loss and toning and firming skin. Right up my esthetic's alley. Many of you don't know this, and I try ever so hard to disguise this in photo's and by the clothing I wear, ever since moving to Utah last summer I have gained 15lbs. Ugh, I don't want to talk about it, but here I am, talking about it. I've been fighting with myself for years to be a healthy Me (anyone who knows me knows I live off of Diet Coke and Sour Patch Kids). I just can't do that anymore. This company is giving me the motivation that I've been lacking to get my buns in gear and have the best body of my life. Hell, I'm not getting any younger. I'm just starting my journey with It Works, but I've seen real life results in people around me, and I am excited to share my progress with you all. If you are interested at all let me know, I'd be happy to help you reach your goals.
None of these awesome things that have come to fruition were it not for some pretty awesome people in my life!
I just want to say a HUGE thank you to those people in my life who have supported me through all of my madness the past 8 weeks. As I am sooooo well known for.....its about to get sappy folks...... feel free to scroll.....
A GINORMOUS thank you to the most perfect parents who put up with my inability to keep a budget and be a grown human & have time, and time again supported me emotionally, spiritually & financially when I just couldn't do it on my own.
Thank you to my Provo FAM! I love you all so much and I am grateful for the support we are able to give each other in each and every one of our endeavors. We are all so insanely different and yet, we work so well together to love and lift each other ever day. Man I love you crazy faces!
Thank you to my provo babies. You two girls keep me laughing and bring me back to reality when I'm off in my own world of sass town.
Thank you to my Bug. Since the day I met you my life changed for the better. I'm so grateful that no matter how far we are you've always supported me in all of my madness & you're always there to real talk me & love me from a far.
Thank you to that one human who is my anchor to reality. I dish out a lot of sass, on the daily, but this one always knows exactly what I need even when I fight it. Thank you for not giving up on me. You've been my best friend since the day we met. I'd be crazy without you somedays. Most days.

Homeless, but not hopeless
Well, if any of you have been keeping up with me via Instagram, Facebook, or here on this bloggy blog, you may know that I was scheduled to move to Arizona last Thursday.
Well, its Tuesday, and I am still in Utah......
Why you ask? Well, I've been asking myself the same question.
I made up my mind in May to move to AZ in August. I was in a position where I really didn't feel like I wanted to stay in Utah. I was living in SLC & things didn't seem to be going my way & life was just hard. I was going through the motions & just working to work. So naturally, I was looking for an out. I wanted to take the easy road and just bail. So, Aug 15th I scheduled my move.
The beginning of June I moved in with my best friend Ashley in Provo and things started to look up. I became more social, it was summer time so I was frequenting Seven Peaks & life became so easy. Too easy. I had made up my mind that since I was leaving in 2 months I could just play.
So that's what I did. Oh boy, did I play.
I worked less and less, wasted more and more time at the pool & in the midst of all of this I started to lose myself. I realized I wasn't living a real life, and I was ready to just move to AZ and put the pieces of my life together.
Summer was quickly coming to an end and I started feeling anxious.
Not ready to leave.
I was a mess.
Ask any of my closest friends. an absolute MESS.
Everyone would say, "Aren't you so excited to move?" & I would fake a smile and say,"Cant wait."
but I wanted to wait....
My last day of work came and went. and I kept putting off packing. A very good friend of mine came over and we talked about my confusion and he was kind enough to give me a blessing.
I will not go into details about this blessing. But it was definitely what I needed.
My plan changed.
I decided to go to AZ for a short time, check it out, go home to California get some sanity and decide what I wanted to do.
I was in limbo. my mind was constantly changing throughout the week.
back and forth. what to do. stay or go.
my head was spinning and my heart was MIA.
Moving day came.
Fact of the matter was I needed to be out of my apartment by noon.
So I packed everything up, put it in my car.
Had a last meal with my closest friend and said the hardest good bye.
I then headed to a friends house to drop a few things off and to say good bye.
And then, I just didn't leave.
I was homeless and jobless and I didn't know what I wanted or where I was going.
All I know is my heart had finally surfaced & I didn't leave.
I don't know what I am still doing in Utah, but whatever it is I feel it will be great. I can't explain how I was feeling as I tried to drive away. I don't expect anyone to understand my decision.
I am sure many of you think I am crazy (I felt crazy too).
But I followed my gut & I trusted my heart when it said to stay.
Dear Utah.
I'm still here.
&
I am ready to party.
thank you to all of those who have dealt with my madness the past few weeks.
thank you to the Smith family to has housed me so I didn't have to live in my car.
thank you to my perfect family & closest friend who let me figure this out on my own even though you had feelings of doubt. you all know me too well.

Shop My Closet
No, but seriously. Come shop in my closet!
For those of you who know me, know that I, like most girls in their 20's, LOVE to shop. And for those of you who know me well (especially roommates, coworkers & lovers) know that I rarely wear the same thing twice. If you ask my mom, its a problem, if you ask me, its a hobby.
Yes, I am the girl who has tags on some of the clothes in her closet still.
Yes, I am the girl who rips tags off before trying clothing on from Forever 21. (& you know you can't return that with out those tags... that's how they get you).
Yes, I am the girl that, unless I am utterly obsessed with a piece, refuse to instagram it more than once.
#imthatgirl
I have, in the past, had people tell me that they would love to shop in my closet....Well, ask and ye shall receive ladies, ask and ye shall receive.
With my move coming closer every day I have been losing sleep (no seriously, I have been) over how I am going to fit EVERYTHING I own into my little Civ. My solution?.... Sell everything.
